About House K2
House K2 stands above Šorići, a small Istrian village about seven kilometres from Rovinj, looking out over the olive groves around it. The plot is private but the roads are close, so you get the quiet without the isolation.
The architecture
It is built as two cubic volumes on two levels — one clad in authentic Istrian stone, the other in a dark corten-style façade. The contrast is the point, and it sits better in the Mediterranean landscape than the description might suggest. Large glass walls open the living space onto the terrace and the pool, so in summer the inside and outside stop being separate rooms.
Inside
Four bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and its own door to the garden — useful when eight adults share a house and keep different hours. The living and dining area is open-plan with a fully equipped kitchen, and the whole villa runs to 220 m².
Outside
A private pool, a large terrace and an inner courtyard, with the olive trees beyond. There is a barbecue and shaded seating, and little reason to get in the car before evening.
